I was having a conversation with a member of our church reflecting on the promises of God. He talked about how he grew up in the church and how the religious non-christian groups of that time offered so much. They had promises for those they intended to reach. As a point of reference he grew up in the inner city of Baltimore Maryland during the sixties. He remembers with great detail the riots that happened back in “68”. He mentioned how the other groups and organizations made promises that were quite appealing for the young black youth. I will neglect to mention who these groups were or what they promise I’m sure you can figure out with a little research if you wanted to. I want to know…
What are you waiting for!
I implore you that you were created for and intended purpose! Do you think that is just a matter of chance that you’re reading this? Let me ask you another question. Do you feel that you know what your purpose is and that your daily actions are in lockstep with it ? If your answer is no then keep reading if your answer is yes then…
What are you waiting for!
Let me first reintroduce the antagonist to our God given purpose. Specifically I’m referring to Satan and the spirit of Antichrist which encompasses all of the unseen influences that resist the authority of God. In a previous post I illustrated how Satan introduces doubt so that mankind would distrust their Creator. As I often mention Satan hasn’t changed his tactics or deviated from what he knows works. Unfortunately that’s what we do as people. Satan uses fear and doubt to thwart the plan of God for our lives.
It’s true. God has something for you to do.
Fear presents itself in so many ways when it comes to true success. Fear of failure will cause many to reach for seemingly more attainable goals instead of pursuing and doing the will of God. Fear of being different or having to walk alone causes many to conform to identities placed on them by others. Fear of the unknown causes us to stop in our tracks (analysis paralysis).
No one really believes your excuses, not even you!
Then there’s doubt (which works together with fear). Doubt asks the question How do you know that’s what you really want or supposed to be doing? Some people doubt they’re qualified, so they are always studying to become whatever, researching the next big thing that they will never, ever, really do. Some doubt they have a specific purpose at all. So like a nomad wandering from place to place never taking root into anything of significance many doubt that life has meaning anyway and feel that doing the best you can (without hurting others) is enough financially or otherwise.
Think of all the time spent thinking up reasons why you can’t do right things.
So let’s go back to the conversation I had with the man. I asked him what separates us from them. To clarify by US I mean believers called to be saints and by THEM I mean everyone else. My brother in Christ shares on his blog how the Lord has asked him the same question which you can read here.
Procrastination is a big word often used by the sluggard who doesn’t want to be called lazy.
In short I believe it’s when we while in this mortal body yield to the Spirit of God so much that we begin to take on the divine nature. When the seed of Christ (in us) begins to produce fruit in the supernatural. Look at the state of the world all around you and what do you see. I’ll tell you what I see. I see the heathen raging and the people imagining vain things. Violence, mayhem, perversion, greed, self promotion and vanity plague our culture. We look only at how we can manage our own affairs leaving all else to someone else. The term heathen categorizes the masses that are living as if there isn’t one true sovereign God. So heathens by definition are rebellious in nature. To me anyone or group that knowingly stands in defiant resistance to God has to be delusional and on the verge of insanity. Although creation speaks that there is a God. Many deny this apparent reality. They use a plethora of logical, yet void of truth questions/statements. However, I believe that when they are presented with undeniable evidence of the creator God through us which testify of him, the raging can cease. When God apart from us demonstrates His sovereignty it will be too late for them. But if we that believe take on the divine nature, become a son, not the Son, of God then they may receive the truth of God from our mouth.
Some say God isn’t fair but He has given each of us 24 hours in a day and the ability to choose what to do with them. Choose Christ!
What are you waiting for? We are waiting for YOU!

Grace & Truth,
Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psalms 46:6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
Acts 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
II Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Nehemiah 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.7 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.
