But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back.

I woke up this morning considering What makes us backslide? or in other words turn away from the truth of God unto salvation. The Preacher said it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine. Some say that after confession with your mouth and believing in your heart that Lord Jesus was raised from the dead after paying the price for our sins then

we shall be saved. Which is the scripture, although interpretations vary. Consider this in Romans 10:9 that word “saved” is past tense and “shall” is future tense. Oftentimes when I’m talking about this subject I ask the question “Saved from what?” To which most reply “from Hell”. In my simple mind I only see two possible outcomes upon death, Heaven or Hell. If we have yet to obtain one, it’s hard for me to deny the possibility of obtaining the other. Whether good or bad if someone is alive there yet remains an opportunity to chose or reject Christ.  But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back. There were at least seventy disciples of Christ that Jesus sent out two by two in order to prepare the people for his coming. These disciples unlike many of us were actually doing the works of God. You know the ones (works) that we assume ceased with completion of the canon like casting out devils, healing sickness and disease. Well these same disciples help us to understand the warning of Jesus in Matthew 7:21. Why? Because in John 6:66 some of these same disciples walked away from Christ. Obviously they believed and were obedient to the commandment of Christ. No, these guys didn’t choose themselves. The bible says the Lord appointed them to do His will. Gladly they set out to do the works of God in obedience to Christ but later in their life they were presented with a hard teaching. They were presented with something from the Lord that challenged a belief system that they held up unto that time. But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back. Let me say that again They were (as we are) presented with something from the Lord that challenged a belief system that they held up unto that time. Today is no different from back then, in that regard. Hosea 6:3 Then shall you know if you follow on to know. I understand that sometimes walking with Christ we are presented with some things that can leave us scratching our heads.  We have all heard folks say stuff like why do bad things happen to good people. Or how can a loving God allow such travesties to happen especially to innocent babies.  But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back. There’s humility and childlike faith when we can comes to terms with the fact that we don’t know everything. So let me ask you a question Does that make God any less God? Does our inability to understand or answer every question directly make the bible any less God’s word. The answer is NO! Although the twelve couldn’t understand in full what the Lord meant at that time, we should, like Peter ask the question “Where else are we going to go? You Lord have the keys to salvation”! Things may get tough  But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back. You won’t always understand  But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back. Folks that have been with you from the beginning may leave you

But KEEP walking, DON’T turn back. Let us become as Paul was, fully persuaded. Acts 8:38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Grace & Truth,

Song of Solomon 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Roman 10:8  But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Luke 10:1  After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Matt 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

John 6:66  From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67  Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68  Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69  And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. 70  Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

About liv4Christ4ever

Seeking to promote true life through Jesus Christ by making the Gospel relevant to our lives today. Presenting the word of God as the final authority on how we as believers, hypocrites and those yet to believe should live in order to please our Creator. One thing is sure, the creature (all creation) was created for a purpose. We will do well by acknowledging our Creator and using His gift of free will to accomplish His purposes. According to scripture “Every knee will bow (Submission) and every tongue will confess (Confession)” to Jesus Christ the Lord. We just choose to submit and confess Christ’s Lordship daily that we might live with Him now and forever.
