Holiday Lies?

This week’s message is designed to briefly address the current holiday season that is upon us.  Halloween is just days away for many in the world, they are looking forward to this day.  Why?  Well, they are looking forward to parties, dressing their kids and pets in costumes and dressing up themselves.

Although Halloween is completely pagan at its origin, Christians have tried to add fun, innocent aspects to the celebration in order to justify celebrating the day.  You will find many churches that will do Hallelujah Harvest parties with the intent of giving their children an alternative to the worldly way of celebration.

Another day that fast approaching is Christmas.  For decades, parents have lied to their children, leading them to believe in “Santa Claus”.  In their children’s lives, Santa takes the place of God as he will give you gifts if you are good.  They take them to the mall to sit on a man’s lap and to make their requests known.

I don’t need to go into the meaning of Christmas or Halloween as you already know it.  However, I do want to pose a serious question.  Are you so carnal in your ways that you would justify lying to your children about the truth of these holidays?  Is it worth the potential fun of costumes, parties, receiving gifts, etc.

I will encourage you to learn more about these holidays and to teach the truth to your children.  They need and deserve to know the truth of what to avoid in today’s society.

Till next time,

Stay On Guard!

About Building & Guarding Families

I am a 36 yr old, married father of 3 children. I have had relationship with God for the last 15 years, but it wasn't until I started my own family that I understood why God made me different. A passion grew in me for building and guarding my family from the failures of those that went before me. I want to share that passion and the wisdom I accumulated over the years to help others to strengthen their families and guide their children the way God intended.
