Subtle Serpents III (Did God really say?)

There’s so much to speak about the last broad category of how the subtle serpent speaks through the celebrities we idolize. I spent much time this week contemplating whether or not I should speak in general terms or start calling folks out. Before I get into it I must say this “We all were created to worship”. It’s natural, just like the desire to eat.

We weren’t created to just worship any and everything but to solely worship the creator God. What is an idol anyways…. a statue,  a shrine, a concept, a person?

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary Idol 1 : a representation or symbol of an object of worship; broadly : a false god According to the Bible account of the 10 Commandments given by the creator of all things “God” we aren’t to worship a false god or make an image of a false god. These two items were addressed in the first two of the ten. They sound similar and the redundancy points to how serious God is about this sin. So tell me why excluding President Barack Obama (celebrity president??) the average age of the top 3 people on twitter is 25 years old and have combined over 160 million followers! That’s simply unbelievable to me but it speaks to our culture and the age that we live in. wpid-screenshot_2014-10-10-15-13-49.pngSo in our insatiable need to know what our idol is doing all the time, we have no need to consider what God is saying or has said. We look to see if we agree with what’s trending to see where we fit in the world. If “everybodys doing it” then it must be right RIGHT? That many people can’t be wrong, or is everybody doing it?

Listen people Matthew 7:13-14 says Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

About liv4Christ4ever

Seeking to promote true life through Jesus Christ by making the Gospel relevant to our lives today. Presenting the word of God as the final authority on how we as believers, hypocrites and those yet to believe should live in order to please our Creator. One thing is sure, the creature (all creation) was created for a purpose. We will do well by acknowledging our Creator and using His gift of free will to accomplish His purposes. According to scripture “Every knee will bow (Submission) and every tongue will confess (Confession)” to Jesus Christ the Lord. We just choose to submit and confess Christ’s Lordship daily that we might live with Him now and forever.
